From corporate life to building something of my own
After more than 20 years in the media and IT industry, including 13 years with my last employer, retrenchment came unexpectedly. Instead of returning straight to corporate life, I saw an opportunity to challenge myself.
Could I use everything I've learnt to build and launch my very own product?
Why a Promotion App?
Turning a personal interest into an idea
Simple. I've always loved a good deal, discovering new places and exploring local businesses.
But promotions are scattered everywhere, and sometimes the best deals are just around the corner without us knowing.
What if finding nearby promotions could be easier?
That's how dahClaimKe started. A Malaysian promotion discovery app, built entirely on my own, to help people save money while helping local businesses get discovered.
The Journey Continues
Building an app is one thing. Growing a business is another.
From concept and design to development and launch, it's been a one person journey.
Now comes the bigger challenge: reaching more users, connecting with businesses and growing dahClaimKe into something sustainable.
And if this doesn't work out? Well, I guess it's back to corporate life for me. 😂 But before that happens,
I'm going to give this my best shot.

Of course, I know none of this will happen overnight. There's still a lot to learn, plenty of challenges ahead and only so much I can do on my own.
Which brings me to the next part of my journey. I could really use some help!
What's next?
I can't buildthe next chapter alone.
I've come this far doing what I know best: designing, coding and building things. But growing a business takes more than technical skills.
And being somewhat of an introvert, I know there are things others can do far better than me!
